Today is the first day of racing in the America’s Cup World Series on San Francisco Bay. These races are a precursor to the America’s Cup and the teams are using the smaller AC45 catamaran, while next years races will be run with the AC72. I won’t be able to get out to shoot any of the races until Friday, so I am posting a couple of shots from the final day of practice yesterday. If you’ve never watched this type of racing, it is fun and fast paced (especially since switching to catamarams) and if you are in the San Francisco Bay area, you should head down to Marina Green this week and have fun watching what has been called ‘NASCAR on the Water’.
